Frankfurt has a very rich history which dates back to the year 794, in that time a fortress was build for everybody who wanted to cross the river Main without paying anything. But as history has proven somehow Frankfurt always manages to revive from its misery and nowadays the city florishes like never before.

Bethmannpark
This park is located in front of Friedberger Tor and opened to the public in 1952, you should really visit the Chinese Gardens - with pagoda. You can play chess by using the park's metre-high chess pieces. However, the park is located off the busy Friedberger Landstraße and, it is not the most peaceful of Frankfurt's green spaces. Yet its location is very easy to reach which makes it perfect for a short walk during your break.
Grüneburgpark & Schönhof-Pavillon
Grüneburgpark is one of the biggest green spaces in the city, the park has beautiful paths for strolling and jogging as well as spacious lawns to rest or play Football. The park was founded in 1789 by P. Tehmann-Metzler and was given to the city of Frankfurt in 1940. it really pays to visit this beautiful park, you’ll notice that you automatically start to relax when you enter the park.
Holzhausen Park
If you like architecture this park is really worth visiting. The fantastic suburban architecture is like the peculiar Holzhausenschlösschen; a moated baroque summer residence a delight to see and the castle houses a variety of shows and artists all during the year.
